Last evening the Southard Fire Dept was dispatched to a reported car fire. Upon arrival units located a car fire with extensive fire from the front of the vehicle. Asst Chief Hadgkiss used a fire extinguisher to control the fire until Engine 19-3-77 arrived on location. I was t boned in the same spot back in 1996. At the time I lived in Heritage Point. The old lady that hit me said her grandson hit me. She was the only one in the car. She was the driver.

Something needs to be done with the traffic by that entrance. It's out of control

Brad Steinberger the building is 100 yards in the distance. time from going in service to going on scene: about 30 seconds.

Just another Saturday! Members were dispatched to Stop and Shop for ducklings stuck in a storm drain. The mother duck was frantic while the ducklings were in the sewer. We lifted the grate off, removed the ducklings with gloves and reunited the large family.Thanks to Howell Township Police and Southard Fire Department for coming to the rescue today. Mama duck was frantic because her 8 babies were stuck in the storm drain. Great job opening the grate, climbing down, saving all 8 babies and reuniting them with their mom.
